Dr. Richard Schroeder

Dr. Rana S. Torabi is a board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist and glaucoma specialist dedicated to helping patients protect and improve their vision. She combines meticulous surgical skill with a warm, approachable style—walking patients through test results, answering questions, and tailoring care to each person’s needs and lifestyle. Her practice spans medical and surgical glaucoma care as well as the full scope of comprehensive ophthalmology, with a strong emphasis on early detection, education, and prevention. A Northwest Indiana native, Dr. Torabi earned her medical degree at Indiana University School of Medicine and completed ophthalmology residency there before advanced fellowship training in glaucoma at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary. In clinic she offers modern laser options, comprehensive glaucoma management, and cataract surgery when appropriate, while collaborating closely with primary eye care providers to support long-term eye health for patients and families across the region.

Dr. Shiraaz Rahman is an ophthalmologist and cataract and glaucoma surgeon with John-Kenyon Eye Centers in the Louisville, Kentucky area. He offers comprehensive surgical care for cataracts and glaucoma, including experience with minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) as well as traditional glaucoma procedures, with a focus on protecting vision over the long term. Dr. Rahman completed advanced fellowship training in glaucoma surgery at Harvard University’s Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Northwestern University and received his medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine through the Honors Program in Medical Education. He completed ophthalmology residency training at Northwestern University’s McGaw Medical Center, serving as chief resident, and is Medical Director of the Eye Surgery Center of New Albany.

Dr. Narges Zandvakil is an ophthalmologist and glaucoma specialist who cares for adults with both early and advanced forms of the disease. She chose ophthalmology after becoming fascinated by the science of vision and how targeted treatments can preserve sight. During residency and fellowship, she was drawn to the complexity of diagnosing and managing glaucoma and the long-term relationships that form when guiding patients through a chronic condition. Her approach is patient-centered and collaborative. Dr. Zandvakil focuses on clear communication, thoughtful education, and shared decision-making so each person understands their diagnosis, options, and next steps.
