About Me
Dr. Richard K. Marschner is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has been providing comprehensive eye care to patients in Manatee and Sarasota counties for over 20 years. His practice emphasizes patient education, ensuring that individuals understand their eye exams and treatment plans. Dr. Marschner and his experienced clinical staff treat and manage a wide variety of eye conditions, and they are committed to providing personalized care without the use of automated phone systems.
Dr. Marschner completed his ophthalmology residency at the Penn State Department of Ophthalmology, where he served as Chief Resident at the Milton Hershey Medical Center and the Lebanon VA Hospitals. His medical training includes an internal medicine internship at York Hospital in Pennsylvania, and he earned his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Additionally, Dr. Marschner holds a pharmacy degree from Rutgers College of Pharmacy, which enhances his understanding of medications and their effects on eye health.
Outside of his practice, Dr. Marschner enjoys camping with his family, traveling to state and national parks, photography, and hydroponic gardening. He and his wife Susan, who works in the office, have a son who is studying engineering at the University of Florida.
