Dr. Ravindra Shah

Dr. Ravindra (Ravi) Shah is a cataract and refractive surgeon at Eyecare Medical Group in Portland, Maine. He helps patients understand their options for clearer vision, from cataract surgery to laser vision correction.

Dr. Shah earned his BA from Columbia College at Columbia University and his medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. He completed internal medicine training at Mt. Sinai St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York, followed by an ophthalmology residency at Rutgers. He then completed a Cornea and Refractive Surgery Fellowship at Cleveland Clinic.

In addition to caring for patients, Dr. Shah has contributed to peer-reviewed publications, served as a clinical investigator in FDA trials for collagen crosslinking for keratoconus, and presented at national ophthalmology and medical science conferences. Having worn glasses and contact lenses for much of his life—and experiencing vision correction surgery himself—he values practical, personalized guidance that fits each patient’s goals.
