About Me
Dr. Kastl is a professor of ophthalmology at Tulane who specializes in cataract, refractive, and corneal surgery. He has extensive experience teaching these procedures to residents and fellows, and his clinical focus includes difficult contact lens fittings for patients with keratoconus, high astigmatism, and those who have undergone previous refractive surgery.
In addition to his surgical expertise, Dr. Kastl offers advanced treatments for keratoconus, including corneal cross-linking and INTACS implantation. He has a special interest in contact lens technology and has taught lens fitting techniques internationally.
Dr. Kastl currently supervises the ophthalmology clinic at University Medical Center (UMC) in New Orleans, where he provides comprehensive eye care and specialty contact lens services. His approach is focused on finding solutions for complex vision problems, helping patients achieve improved visual outcomes.
