Meet Dr. Paul Kaufman
About Me
Dr. Paul Kaufman is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained retina specialist. He provides expert medical and surgical care for children and adults with a wide variety of retinal conditions, including diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, macular pucker or hole, retinopathy of prematurity, and retinal vascular occlusions. He treats each patient with a personalized approach, utilizing the latest advances in retina diagnosis and treatment.
Dr. Kaufman earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia with honors and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He completed his ophthalmology residency at MUSC's Storm Eye Institute and advanced fellowship training in vitreoretinal disease and surgery. A native of Atlanta, Dr. Kaufman joined Thomas Eye Group in 2004 and currently sees patients at the Sandy Springs and Woodstock locations. He serves as Chairman of the Ophthalmology Section at Northside Hospital and is an active member of the American Society of Retina Specialists and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
