Dr. Paul Sanchez

Dr. Paul Sanchez is an ophthalmologist specializing in cataract and glaucoma surgery at Southwest Eyecare in Albuquerque. He provides advanced cataract surgery techniques, including femtosecond laser-assisted procedures, and offers comprehensive medical, laser, and surgical treatments for glaucoma. Dr. Sanchez also performs diabetic eye evaluations and treatments to help patients manage their eye health.

Dr. Sanchez graduated summa cum laude in biochemistry from the University of New Mexico and earned his medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He has been recognized as a Top Doc for Ophthalmology by Albuquerque Magazine in 2024 and 2026.

Committed to the future of healthcare, Dr. Sanchez has served as president of both the Greater Albuquerque Medical Association and the New Mexico Academy of Ophthalmology. He has contributed to medical research for over 25 years and has published in leading journals. Outside of practice, he enjoys fly-fishing, skiing, and spending time with his family.
