About Me
Dr. Keating is a board-certified ophthalmologist and Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology with the LSU New Orleans Department of Ophthalmology. He currently teaches surgery to ophthalmology residents at University Hospital and Clinics in Lafayette, bringing advanced surgical training to the next generation of eye doctors. His practice emphasizes comprehensive eye care with a focus on cutting-edge technology, including bladeless all-laser cataract surgery and all-laser LASIK, as well as minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), glaucoma diagnosis and treatment, and medical retina evaluation.
Dr. Keating is the inventor and co-founder of the SightScholar electronic eye chart, an all-in-one system used to assess visual acuity and educate patients on various eye conditions and their treatment options. He prides himself on providing personalized and individualized care, continually studying and researching the newest and most advanced treatment options to ensure the best visual outcomes for his patients.
Raised in Opelousas and a graduate of Opelousas Catholic High School, Dr. Keating earned his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University, graduating Cum Laude in 2006. He received his Doctor of Medicine from the Louisiana State University Medical School in Shreveport in 2011 and completed his internship and ophthalmology residency at Louisiana State University, where he was honored as chief resident. He is fully certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
