Dr. Omair Ali

Dr. Omair Ali is a comprehensive ophthalmologist at Pannu Laser and Vision Institute, providing medical and surgical care for conditions like cataracts, glaucoma, and anterior segment issues. His practice includes laser-assisted cataract surgery with advanced lens options, micro-incisional glaucoma procedures, and in-office laser and minor surgeries such as pterygium excision and Botox injections.

He graduated with Honors from Indiana University Bloomington in 2010, completed a Master’s in Medical Sciences at Boston University, and spent a year in research at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary/Harvard Medical School. Dr. Ali earned his medical degree with Honors from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Medicine in 2016. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Louisiana State University in 2020, serving as Chief Resident, followed by a fellowship in Academic Global Ophthalmology at Wills Eye Hospital. During his fellowship, he taught residents and performed surgeries in Rwanda, Burundi, and Ghana, and has conducted surgical outreach trips to Guatemala, Pakistan, and India, establishing community eye clinics in Philadelphia, Arkansas, and Louisiana.

Dr. Ali is passionate about expanding access to high-quality eye care and giving the gift of vision to underserved communities. Patients appreciate his clear explanations and emphasis on shared decision-making, aligning treatments with individual visual goals and lifestyles. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and the College of Ophthalmology of Eastern Central and Southern Africa.
