Dr. Nikhil Godbole

Dr. Nikhil Godbole is a comprehensive ophthalmologist with extensive experience in refractive and cataract surgery, advanced technology intraocular lenses, and the surgical management of astigmatism. He is skilled in minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) for patients with mild to moderate glaucoma and offers laser vision correction procedures including LASIK and PRK. Dr. Godbole also has a strong interest in medical retina, managing conditions such as diabetic eye disease and wet macular degeneration with specialized intravitreal medications and retinal laser therapy. In addition, he performs cosmetic eyelid and brow surgeries, including blepharoplasty and brow lifts, and provides Botox injections.

Dr. Godbole served as a faculty member at the San Antonio Uniformed Health Science Education Consortium Ophthalmology residency, where he was recognized as Surgical Educator of the Year in 2020. He previously served in the United States Army, achieving the rank of Major and participating in humanitarian missions to Panama. His background includes experience at the only Level 1 Trauma and Burn Center and the largest Refractive Surgery Center within the Department of Defense.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Godbole played Division I tennis in college and has over a decade of experience as a tennis instructor and coach. He enjoys spending time outdoors and traveling with his family.
