About Me
Nicole Lowrey, MD, PhD, is a comprehensive ophthalmologist who enjoys helping patients understand their options and feel confident about their care. A Texas native, she graduated with honors in biochemistry from The University of Texas at Austin and completed combined MD–PhD training at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where her NIH-supported research explored the human innate immune system. She went on to Washington University in St. Louis for her internship and ophthalmology residency, earning multiple departmental awards for clinical excellence and research.
At Ideal Eye Surgery, Dr. Lowrey provides thoughtful, step-by-step guidance to match each patient’s goals with the right vision-correction approach. Whether discussing modern cataract solutions or laser vision correction, she takes time to explain benefits, risks, and recovery in clear language. Outside clinic, she enjoys St. Louis parks and arts, baking for family and friends, and exploring local vintage shops.
