About Me
Dr. Mouhammed Abuattieh is a highly respected retina specialist and ophthalmologist known for his expertise in diagnosing and treating complex retinal disorders such as macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal detachments. With a rich academic and clinical background, he has dedicated his career to advancing the field of ophthalmology, particularly in retinal diseases.
He obtained his Medical Degree from Charles University Medical School in Prague, graduating sum cum laude with the Dean’s high achievement award, and completed a Ph.D. in immunology research with work at Mayo Clinic labs. His training includes a preliminary surgery residency at Mayo Clinic, an ophthalmology residency at the University of Missouri, Kansas City where he served as Chief Resident, and a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at Washington University/Barnes Jewish Hospital.
In clinical practice, Dr. Abuattieh employs a patient-centered approach, utilizing the latest advances in retinal care including laser therapies, retinal injections, and minimally invasive surgeries to treat thousands of patients with sight-threatening conditions. He is also committed to medical education and participates in medical missions to provide ophthalmic care internationally.
