Dr. Monique Munro

Dr. Monique Munro is a multi-fellowship-trained medical and surgical retina specialist with unique expertise in inflammatory eye disease (uveitis) and pediatric retina. Her pursuit of excellence led her to complete a medical retina and uveitis fellowship and a competitive surgical retina fellowship at the renowned Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary at the University of Illinois in Chicago. As the first female surgical retina specialist to join the ranks in Calgary, she has been making significant contributions to the region’s eye care landscape since 2022.

Beyond her clinical practice, Dr. Munro’s commitment to advancing retinal care is evidenced by her international involvement in retina committees and her membership in the American Uveitis Society. Her avid participation in cutting-edge research and regular attendance at local and international conferences underscores her dedication to providing patients with the latest, evidence-based treatments.
