About Me

Dr. Bachir Abiad is a Consultant Ophthalmologist who serves as the Chief of the Department of Ophthalmology at Clemenceau Medical Center in Beirut, Lebanon. He specializes in anterior segment and refractive surgery, with expertise at multiple major hospitals. His practice focuses on complex anterior segment reconstruction and various corneal transplant procedures, including PKP, DALK, DSAEK, and DMEK.

Dr. Abiad is also a refractive surgeon experienced in PRK, femto-LASIK, cross-linking, ICL, and intra-stromal rings. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the American University of Beirut Medical Center and a two-year AUPO-certified fellowship in anterior segment, cornea, and refractive surgery at UT Southwestern in the United States.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Abiad has published more than 10 peer-reviewed articles and remains actively involved in academic teaching with junior residents. He believes in a multidisciplinary approach to treating ocular problems and collaborates with a team of subspecialists at Clemenceau Medical Center.
