About Me
Mila J. Heersink, M.D. joined Northwest Eye in 2021, offering routine and specialty eye care from offices in Golden Valley and Wayzata. She emphasizes a patient-first approach, creating personalized treatment plans and using advanced technologies to address complex eye problems holistically. Dr. Heersink is recognized for her expertise in corneal conditions, cataract removal, glaucoma (MIGS), and Dry Eye treatment.
She completed her undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, followed by an internship at Harbor Hospital in Baltimore. Her ophthalmology residency and cornea fellowship were undertaken at Wills Eye Hospital, a top-ranked training program, where she learned from leading experts in the field.
Board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Heersink is a member of the American Society of Refractive and Cataract Surgery and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Her international background and early academic achievements contribute to her comprehensive care, supported by experience in ophthalmology mission work.
