About Me
Dr. Michelle M. Maeng is a board-certified ophthalmologist with subspecialty training in oculofacial plastic, reconstructive, and orbital surgery. An Assistant Professor at Yale School of Medicine, she cares for both pediatric and adult patients with conditions that affect the eyelids, orbit, and tear drainage system. She explains options in clear language and designs individualized surgical plans focused on safety and natural-looking results.
Dr. Maeng completed ophthalmology residency at Columbia University Medical Center, followed by an American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) fellowship in oculofacial and orbital surgery at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. Her clinical interests include eyelid and orbital cancers, orbital decompression, repair of eyelid malposition, lacrimal surgery, and facial trauma reconstruction. She also performs procedures such as blepharoplasty and ptosis repair and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams when complex care is required.
