About Me
Dr. Yonca Arat is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in oculoplastic surgery, serving as the chief of oculoplastic surgery at Yale Medicine. She has subspecialty training in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery, focusing on conditions affecting the eyelids, orbit, and tear ducts.
Dr. Arat provides comprehensive care for a wide range of conditions, including eyelid and orbital disorders, ptosis (drooping eyelids), blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), lacrimal (tear duct) surgeries, and facial trauma reconstruction. She also manages thyroid eye disease and treats both benign and cancerous tumors of the eyelids and orbit in adult and pediatric patients.
A professor of ophthalmology and visual science at Yale School of Medicine, Dr. Arat completed her medical degree and residency in Turkey, followed by a residency and fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine. She is actively involved in research, having written book chapters and published numerous scientific papers, and she has presented at international meetings.
