Dr. Michael Blair

Dr. Michael Blair is an ophthalmologist at Retina Consultants Ltd., with offices serving patients in Des Plaines, Libertyville, Elgin, Lisle, Hickory Hills, Wilmette, and the Chicago area. His clinical interests focus on retinal conditions, including diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal vascular disease, pediatric retina disorders, retinopathy of prematurity, complex retinal detachment repair, and ocular tumors.

Dr. Blair completed his undergraduate studies at Harvard University and earned his medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. He performed his ophthalmology residency at the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute and completed a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Blair serves as a Clinical Associate at the University of Chicago, where he treats pediatric retina problems and teaches residents and fellows. He also directs the Retinopathy of Prematurity service and volunteers at Cook County Health System.
