Dr. Michael Pernula

Dr. Michael Pernula is an ophthalmologist at Center For Sight in Las Vegas, where he joined in 2015 after returning to the city. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of eye diseases, bringing particular expertise in refractive cataract surgery, including laser-assisted techniques and premium intraocular lenses. Dr. Pernula is also skilled in the medical and surgical management of glaucoma, utilizing laser procedures and micro-invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS).

His clinical practice extends to treating eyelid diseases and performing related procedures, managing dry eye conditions, providing diabetic eye care, and addressing macular degeneration. Dr. Pernula is a clinical investigator for numerous ongoing research studies at Center For Sight, helping to keep the practice at the forefront of new ophthalmology treatments. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Pernula discovered his passion for studying the eye in high school, captivated by its complexity and the importance of vision for quality of life. Outside his practice, he enjoys spending time with his son, engaging in outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, skiing, climbing, and fly fishing.
