Dr. Emily Schehlein, MD is a board-certified ophthalmologist with fellowship training in glaucoma and a high-volume surgeon specializing in cataract and glaucoma procedures. Dr. Schehlein is known for combining clinical precision with a warm, patient-centered approach. She currently works with multiple national organizations focused on advancing surgical innovation and sustainability in ophthalmology, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Dr. Roman Krivochenitser is a board-certified ophthalmologist who practices comprehensive eye care and specializes in cataract surgery, vision correction procedures, and glaucoma. He is fellowship-trained in glaucoma and offers modern approaches that may include micro-invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) and laser treatments, with a goal of preserving vision and reducing the burden of daily eye drops when appropriate. Dr. Krivo earned his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and completed residency training at the University of Wisconsin, followed by glaucoma fellowship training at the University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center. He is also engaged in patient advocacy and healthcare policy work, reflecting a commitment to access and affordability. Dr. Sonia Rana is a board-certified, fellowship-trained glaucoma and cataract surgeon at the Glaucoma Center of Michigan. She completed medical school at Wayne State University in Detroit, followed by an intern year at Crittenton Hospital (now Henry Ford Rochester). Dr. Rana then completed her ophthalmology residency at Wayne State University’s Kresge Eye Institute at Detroit Medical Center, where she was elected Chief Resident, and remained at Kresge to complete a Glaucoma and Complex Cataract Fellowship. Her expertise includes complex glaucoma surgery, minimally invasive glaucoma procedures (MIGS), and small-incisional cataract surgery with traditional, toric, and extended range of focus intraocular lenses. She also performs laser procedures to treat glaucoma, cataracts, and secondary cataracts. Dr. Rana has received the Dong H. Shin Outstanding Ophthalmology Research Award and the Allen Prize for glaucoma research.
