Dr. Michael Richie is a comprehensive ophthalmologist who specializes in laser vision correction and advanced cataract surgery. He has a particular interest in refractive cataract surgery, using high-technology multifocal and toric lens implants to correct astigmatism and reduce the need for reading glasses. Dr. Richie customizes surgical plans for each patient, drawing on years of LASIK experience to optimize visual outcomes. He treats a range of vision conditions, including cataracts, astigmatism, and presbyopia, with a focus on personalized care.

Dr. Richie completed his undergraduate studies at St John’s University and earned his medical degree from the University of Minnesota. He went on to complete an internship at Hennepin County Medical Center and a residency in ophthalmology at the Eye Institute of the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. He is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Minnesota Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.

Dr. Richie and his wife Mary have lived in Faribault since 1991 and are deeply involved in their community, supporting local schools, charities, and organizations such as the United Way and Chamber of Commerce. Outside of medicine, he enjoys skiing and spending time with his three adult children.
