About Me
Michael B. Horsley is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in both cataracts and glaucoma. He has been with Southwestern Eye Center since 2011, where he offers his patients the latest advances in cataract surgery, including no-stitch surgery, laser-assisted surgery, and premium lens technologies. Dr. Horsley also provides many types of glaucoma lasers, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery options, and combined cataract and glaucoma procedures.
Dr. Horsley completed his Bachelor’s degree in Spanish at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, and attended medical school at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He then moved to Arizona for an internship at Tucson Medical Center. Dr. Horsley finished his ophthalmology residency at the University of Colorado, Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Institute, where he served as Chief Resident in his senior year. He then completed a glaucoma fellowship at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Horsley is published in many major ophthalmic journals on a variety of subjects, including glaucoma care, and has authored book chapters on glaucoma. He has lectured and presented research nationally and is affiliated with several professional organizations. He was born and raised in Rockford, Illinois, enjoys traveling, skiing, golfing, and spending time with his family, and is fluent in Spanish.
