About Me
Dr. Matthew Hartman, MD is a cataract, cornea, and external disease specialist who helps patients achieve clear, comfortable vision with individualized surgical planning. He performs cataract surgery with advanced lens technology to address astigmatism and presbyopia, provides refractive surgery options, and offers corneal transplantation (DSEK/DMEK) and ocular surface reconstruction. Patients appreciate his calm, collaborative style and clear explanations before and after surgery.
Dr. Hartman graduated summa cum laude with a BA in Chemistry from Southern Adventist University and earned his MD at Loma Linda University, where he was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha. He completed internship and ophthalmology residency at the University of Tennessee’s Hamilton Eye Institute, then a cornea and external disease fellowship at the University of Colorado in Denver. Originally from the Nashville area, he is proud to care for patients close to home while delivering modern, evidence-based treatments.
