About Me
Dr. Matthew J. Nutaitis is a glaucoma specialist with expertise in cataract and anterior segment disorders. He has extensive experience in the medical, laser, and surgical management of primary and secondary glaucoma, and uses these interventions to preserve vision. Dr. Nutaitis spent 15 years as an attending at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, and currently practices at MUSC Health Ophthalmology at West Ashley Medical Pavilion.
Dr. Nutaitis earned his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and completed his internship and residency at the National Naval Medical Center, followed by a glaucoma fellowship at Storm Eye Institute. He serves as the ophthalmology residency program director at the Medical University of South Carolina.
