About Me
Dr. Matthew G. Field is a cornea and anterior segment surgeon who offers comprehensive medical and surgical eye care with an emphasis on vision-restoring procedures. He provides advanced cataract surgery, refractive lens exchange, and laser vision correction (LASIK/PRK), and performs anterior segment and reconstructive surgery tailored to each patient’s goals. Patients appreciate his clear explanations and collaborative style, whether they are exploring options to reduce dependence on glasses or seeking solutions for complex corneal disease.
Dr. Field’s background includes MD/PhD training focused on ocular oncology, with research that informed clinically available tests for uveal melanoma and ongoing innovations in ophthalmic imaging. He completed residency at the University of Iowa and a cornea/anterior segment fellowship at Minnesota Eye Consultants. At Twin Cities Eye Consultants, he also manages glaucoma medically and surgically and performs select oculoplastic procedures, allowing most patients to receive coordinated care in one place.
