About Me
Dr. Matthew Appenzeller is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in the medical and surgical treatment of retinal and vitreous conditions, diabetic eye diseases, and cataracts. He provides comprehensive care for patients with these conditions, utilizing the latest advancements in retinal surgery and medical management.
A native of South Carolina, Dr. Appenzeller completed his medical degree at the Medical University of South Carolina. He then completed an internal medicine internship and ophthalmology residency at the University of Cincinnati, followed by a vitreoretinal surgery and medicine fellowship at the Cincinnati Eye Institute. This extensive training has equipped him to manage complex retinal disorders.
Dr. Appenzeller joined Midwest Eye Care in Omaha in 2015 and is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists. He is dedicated to providing personalized, high-quality eye care to his patients in the Omaha community.
