Dr. Matthew Cardinale
About Me
Dr. Matthew Cardinale is a comprehensive ophthalmologist and refractive surgeon at Eye Associates Northwest in Seattle. He provides cataract surgery and advanced vision correction—including LASIK, SMILE, PRK, EVO ICL, and refractive lens exchange—and also treats glaucoma, pterygium, and medical retina conditions such as diabetic eye disease. Patients appreciate his calm, step-by-step approach and clear guidance before and after surgery.
An Army veteran, Dr. Cardinale trained at Madigan Army Medical Center, where he completed his ophthalmology residency and cared for active-duty service members, veterans, and their families. He earned his DO from the NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine and a BS in Neuroscience (cum laude) from the University of Delaware. At Eye Associates Northwest’s First Hill and Ballard locations, he partners with your optometrist and primary care team to tailor care to your goals—whether that’s sharper distance vision, less dependence on glasses, or relief from chronic eye conditions.
