About Me
Dr. Matthew De Niear is an ophthalmologist who provides comprehensive eye care. His medical journey began in New Jersey and took him westward to Northern California. He completed his undergraduate education at Davidson College and then pursued a combined MD/PhD program at Vanderbilt University. His graduate research explored how vision and hearing interact, which sparked his interest in ophthalmology.
Dr. De Niear completed a general surgery internship at Vanderbilt and then moved to Sacramento for his ophthalmology residency at UC Davis. He and his family fell in love with Northern California during his training and are happy to call it home. He is dedicated to serving the community and looks forward to helping patients and their families with their vision problems and improving their ocular health.
