About Me
Dr. Mark S. Dorfman is a board-certified pediatric ophthalmologist who specializes in the surgical correction of strabismus (eye misalignment) and blocked tear ducts. He also has extensive experience treating retinopathy of prematurity in premature infants, amblyopia (lazy eye), eyelid pathology, and genetic malformations of the visual system, and provides comprehensive pediatric eye examinations.
Dr. Dorfman joined Eye Surgery Associates in 1994. He completed a pediatric ophthalmology fellowship at Northwestern University in Chicago, an ophthalmology residency at the Medical College of Virginia, and a medical internship at Mount Sinai Medical Center. He graduated cum laude from Albany Medical College and magna cum laude from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Dr. Dorfman served as Chief of Surgery at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital and is the senior pediatric ophthalmologist there. He is a past president of the Florida Society of Ophthalmology and remains active in legislative efforts affecting children's vision. He currently accepts new patients at his Hollywood, Pembroke Pines, and Weston offices.
