About Me
Dr. Madhu R. Agarwal is a neuro-ophthalmologist and eyelid surgeon specializing in the evaluation and treatment of diseases affecting the eyelids, eye muscles, and optic nerve. She is one of the few national experts capable of managing all diseases and surgeries around the eye, which allows patients to avoid seeing multiple specialists and coordinate care more efficiently.
Dr. Agarwal has been an invited speaker for prestigious institutions like USC, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society, contributing to established standards of care. She has taught courses for the American Academy of Ophthalmology and helped develop educational materials for recertification in neuro-ophthalmology and orbital surgery. Additionally, she co-authored a section of a key textbook used at top medical schools including UCLA, USC, Stanford, and Harvard.
Dr. Agarwal began her academic journey at UCLA at age 16, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry magna cum laude with Highest Honors. She started medical school at UCLA at 19 and received the Alumni Achievement Award upon graduation. After an internship at UCLA, she completed her ophthalmology residency and fellowship at the Doheny Eye Institute.
