About Me

Dr. Lowrey P. King is a board-certified ophthalmologist and ophthalmic surgeon who specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of diseases of the retina and vitreous. He provides comprehensive care for conditions such as retinal detachment, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and vitreous disorders, and also performs cataract surgery. Dr. King is dedicated to helping patients preserve and improve their vision through advanced medical and surgical interventions.

Dr. King completed his ophthalmology residency at the Medical University of South Carolina and pursued advanced training in retinal disease at the Washington National Eye Center. He maintains an academic affiliation with the Medical University of South Carolina as an associate professor at the Storm Eye Institute. He is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. King has provided cataract and surgical retina care in underserved communities around the world through his involvement with the charitable organization Retina Global.
