About Me
Dr. Leah Kammerdiener is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist who cares for patients with cataracts, glaucoma, and other common eye conditions. She emphasizes a careful exam, clear explanations, and treatment plans designed to protect vision over time.
Dr. Kammerdiener completed the Rochester Early Medical Scholars Program through the University of Rochester and the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. She graduated magna cum laude with a degree in biology and earned her MD with distinction in research, and she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She completed ophthalmology residency and glaucoma fellowship training at the Storm Eye Institute at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Her practice includes medical and surgical cataract care, glaucoma evaluation and monitoring, and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS). She brings academic recognition for excellence in training, including the Program Director’s Award as well as the Helma Research Award and Richard Saunders Award.
