Dr. Justin Gutman

Dr. Justin Gutman is a retina specialist who has been practicing ophthalmology and vitreoretinal surgery for seven years. He joins the Retina Center of New Jersey after gaining experience in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Dallas, Texas. He is fluent in Spanish and sees patients at multiple offices in New Jersey, including Bloomfield, North Bergen, Ramsey, Teaneck, and Union. Dr. Gutman is committed to providing access to leading-edge clinical research trials for his patients.

During his time in Dallas and Fort Worth, he ran the retina service at two of the largest county hospitals, which are tertiary referral centers. This role exposed him to the most complex medical and surgical retinal conditions. Prior to that, he served as chief resident at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, New York, in 2013, treating a diverse patient population from around the world. Dr. Gutman completed his transitional internship in San Bernardino, California, earned his medical degree at SUNY Upstate in Syracuse, and graduated cum laude from the University of Florida. Born and raised in New York, he moved back to the Northeast to be closer to family after the birth of his son in 2016 and is dedicated to serving patients in northern New Jersey.
