Dr. Julie Durand

Dr. Julie R. Durand is a comprehensive ophthalmologist who sees patients at the Maryville office of University Eye Specialists. She has lived and worked in the East Tennessee community for more than 20 years, treating adults and children over the age of 10. Describing her medical career as fulfilling and rewarding, Dr. Durand considers it a privilege to help patients address their eye care needs.

Dr. Durand developed long-term relationships in Maryville after opening a private practice there in 1993. She later sold her practice to University Eye Specialists and rejoined the group in 2004. Originally from northwestern Pennsylvania, she completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy, earned her medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina, and completed an internship at Creighton University and an ophthalmology residency at Oregon Health Sciences University. Dr. Durand thrives in the outpatient setting and takes time to listen to her patients and explain their conditions and treatment options clearly.
