About Me
Dr. Joshua Schliesser is a fellowship-trained pediatric ophthalmologist who specializes in the medical and surgical management of pediatric eye diseases and adult strabismus. He helps children and families navigate conditions that can affect visual development, and emphasizes timely evaluation so treatment can support the best possible long-term vision.
Dr. Schliesser cares for pediatric eye conditions such as strabismus, amblyopia (lazy eye), congenital cataracts, pediatric glaucoma, retinopathies, corneal dystrophies, and eyelid malformations or deformities. He earned his bachelor’s degree at Utah State University, completed medical school at the University of Utah School of Medicine, trained in ophthalmology residency at the University of Missouri in Kansas City, and completed a pediatric ophthalmology fellowship at Indiana University. He is the only full-time, fellowship-trained pediatric ophthalmologist in Southern Utah at Zion Eye Institute.
