About Me
Dr. John Russell Burks is a comprehensive ophthalmologist at Little Rock Eye Clinic, providing medical and surgical care for a wide range of eye conditions. He specializes in cataract surgery and is also trained in minimally invasive glaucoma surgery. Dr. Burks is dedicated to helping patients maintain and improve their vision through advanced surgical techniques and comprehensive eye care.
Born in North Little Rock and raised in Sherwood and Cabot, Dr. Burks graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. He earned his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the renowned Dean McGee Eye Institute in Oklahoma City.
Dr. Burks is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the Arkansas Ophthalmological Society, and the Arkansas Medical Society. He lives in central Arkansas with his wife, Ashley, and their dog, Samson. In his spare time, he enjoys outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, running, and golf.
