Dr. Nairn is a board-certified and fellowship-trained cataract and glaucoma specialist who serves as the director of the glaucoma service at AIO. He specializes in the latest medical, laser, and surgical treatments for glaucoma and cataracts, including advanced cataract surgery and laser cataract surgery. He has been in private practice in the Pittsburgh area for over 20 years and has been an invited principal investigator for clinical trials on glaucoma and cataract advancements.

Dr. Nairn earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and received his medical degree and master's degree in physiology from Georgetown University. He completed his ophthalmology residency at St. Francis Medical Center and a fellowship in glaucoma and anterior segment surgery at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary of Harvard Medical School. He was one of the first surgeons in Pennsylvania to perform laser cataract surgery and has authored numerous scientific papers in ophthalmology journals.
