About Me
Dr. John Ervin is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has been providing comprehensive eye care at the Eye Center of Central Georgia since 2004. He welcomes new patients and is dedicated to treating a wide range of eye conditions, from routine exams to complex surgical procedures.
Dr. Ervin completed his undergraduate education at Middlebury College, graduating cum laude, and earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University Medical Center, where he received the Luis Perez Award for outstanding medical student. He then completed an internship in Internal Medicine at the Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation and a Master of Public Health at the LSU Health Sciences Center. His ophthalmology residency was completed at LSU/Ochsner in New Orleans, where he served as chief resident and received an award for the Most Outstanding Presentation for Clinical Research.
Since moving to Macon, Dr. Ervin has been actively involved in the local community, serving on the board of the Historic Macon Foundation and the Intown Macon Neighborhood Association. He has also represented the Bibb County Medical Society as a delegate to the Medical Association of Georgia and is the past president of the Georgia Society of Ophthalmology.
