About Me
Dr. John A. Vukich is a board-certified ophthalmologist and the founder and medical director of Summit Eye Care, with offices in Wauwatosa and Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. With over 30 years of experience, Dr. Vukich specializes in refractive cataract surgery, presbyopia correction, and the use of implantable collamer lenses (ICL). He is recognized as a leader and innovator in the field, having served as a principal investigator in the original US clinical trials for the ICL and presented data to the FDA for approval.
Dr. Vukich takes a patient-centered approach to eye care, taking time to understand each patient's lifestyle, visual goals, and concerns. He offers a range of advanced procedures including LASIK, PRK, refractive lens exchange, and femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery with advanced intraocular lens implants. He has taught and certified eye surgeons on five continents and is committed to using the latest diagnostic and surgical technology to achieve the best outcomes for his patients.
A Wisconsin native, Dr. Vukich earned his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine with highest honors and completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary. He is an active researcher with over 40 clinical trials and has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Dulaney Award from the American European Congress of Ophthalmic Surgery.
