Dr. Joel Nelson

Dr. Joel Nelson is an ophthalmologist with an emphasis on corneal disease and surgical vision correction. He offers advanced corneal care, including corneal transplant techniques such as PKP, DSEK, DMEK, and DALK, and he is prepared to surgically manage intraocular lens dislocations using the intrascleral haptic fixation technique. He also performs cataract surgery and LASIK and provides glaucoma care, including iStent Inject Micro-Bypass implantation at the time of cataract surgery when appropriate.

A Minnesota native, Dr. Nelson earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and psychology from Gustavus Adolphus College.
