About Me
Dr. Jill Rotruck is a board-certified pediatric ophthalmologist and adult strabismus specialist at Yale Medicine. She cares for children with amblyopia, eye misalignment, pediatric cataracts, and tear-duct problems, and helps adults with strabismus and bothersome double vision. Patients appreciate her calm, friendly manner and the way she explains tests and treatment choices in simple, practical terms—whether that means glasses, patching, prisms, or surgery.Dr. Rotruck completed ophthalmology residency at California Pacific Medical Center and fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at the Duke Eye Center. She earned her MD from the West Virginia University School of Medicine after undergraduate studies in biology and music at Shepherd University. In addition to patient care, her academic interests include binocular treatments for amblyopia, the use of optical coherence tomography in pediatric eye disease, and pediatric ocular infections. She partners closely with families to create care plans that fit each child’s needs and daily life.
