About Me
Dr. Jessica Gomez is a board-certified vitreoretinal surgeon who treats the full spectrum of medical and surgical retina conditions, including age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal tears and detachments, macular holes and epiretinal membranes, retinal vein occlusions and uveitis. She joined Inland Valley Retina in 2025 and is fluent in Spanish. Patients value her calm explanations and practical strategies that make treatments—such as intravitreal injections—more comfortable. A San Diego native, Dr. Gomez earned her BS in Biochemistry and Cell Biology at UC San Diego and her medical degree at the UCLA School of Medicine. She completed ophthalmology residency at the University of Minnesota, then a two-year vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine with training across Houston’s major hospitals. She has served as a clinical instructor at a high-volume VA eye clinic and has authored peer-reviewed research and a book chapter on ocular infections and macular hole surgery.
