Dr. Jerry Maida

Dr. Jerry Maida is a refractive surgery specialist based in Jacksonville, Florida, with over three decades of experience in vision correction. He is recognized as a world authority on refractive surgery and LASIK, having performed thousands of refractive procedures yearly and more than 22,000 LASIK procedures overall. Dr. Maida was the first to perform LASIK in Northeast Florida and has been using the Excimer laser for over 25 years, longer than any other surgeon in the region.

Dr. Maida's dedication to refractive surgery is reflected in his pioneering work, including organizing the first Excimer Laser clinics in Colombia, Peru, and Ecuador, and training over 100 surgeons. He has been at the forefront of advanced vision correction technologies, from radial keratotomy and PRK to Wavefront-guided LASIK and IntraLase all-laser LASIK.

Dr. Maida completed his residency at Wills Eye Hospital and a fellowship in cornea and anterior segment surgery, and holds an MBA from the Wharton School. He has been recognized with multiple national and international awards for excellence in LASIK surgery.
