About Me
Dr. Jeffrey R. Golen is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cornea care, cataract surgery, and comprehensive eye health. After advanced fellowship training at the F.I. Proctor Foundation at UCSF, he served on the ophthalmology faculty at the University of Virginia, treating complex cataracts, severe trauma, advanced infections, and congenital eye disorders. He now leads Central Florida Ophthalmology in Oviedo, where he delivers attentive, patient-first care for both routine and challenging conditions.
Dr. Golen’s education includes medical school at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and ophthalmology residency at the University of South Florida. He offers a full spectrum of services—from corneal transplantation and pterygium surgery to modern cataract surgery and longitudinal management of dry eye, glaucoma, and diabetic eye disease. Known for clear communication and a collaborative style, he helps patients understand their diagnosis and choose the treatment that best fits their goals and lifestyle.
