About Me
Dr. James A. McHale is a board-certified ophthalmologist in Columbus, Ohio, specializing in cataract treatment and surgery. He serves as Director of Cataract Surgery at Columbus Ophthalmology Associates and has been with the practice since 2004. With nearly two decades of experience, he understands the great privilege and responsibility that comes with being an eye surgeon.
Dr. McHale treats a range of eye conditions including cataracts, glaucoma, dry eye, and retinal issues. He provides LASIK consultations and comprehensive eye care to help patients achieve better vision. He holds leadership roles at area medical institutions, including serving as Chairman of the Ophthalmology Department at Mount Carmel Health System and as a board member at Columbus Eye Surgery Center.
He completed his undergraduate studies in Biology and Psychology at Miami University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He earned his medical degree and completed his ophthalmology residency at The Ohio State University.
