Dr. James Nachbar

Dr. James G. Nachbar is an ophthalmologist and cataract surgeon at South Jersey Eye Physicians, serving patients in Moorestown, Columbus, and Medford, New Jersey. He earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School and completed his residency in ophthalmology at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. Throughout his career, Dr. Nachbar has specialized in cataract surgery and advanced intraocular lens implants, including toric lenses to correct astigmatism and multifocal lenses to reduce dependence on eyeglasses after cataract surgery.

After more than four decades of practice, Dr. Nachbar has announced his retirement from active patient care. His final cataract surgeries will be performed at the end of September. He expressed deep gratitude for the trust placed in him by tens of thousands of patients over his 41-year tenure at South Jersey Eye Physicians.

Dr. Nachbar's expertise also includes the diagnosis and management of glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and other eye conditions. He has performed over 200,000 exams and more than 20,000 surgeries, including cataract and LASIK procedures.
