About Me
Dr. James Chong is a board-certified ophthalmologist who provides comprehensive medical and surgical eye care in Houston. He grew up in the area and has deep roots in the community, having graduated as valedictorian from Memorial High School. Dr. Chong pursued his undergraduate studies at Rice University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in anthropology, and then attended Baylor College of Medicine for his medical degree. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston, gaining extensive training in eye care.
Dr. Chong is dedicated to ensuring each patient achieves their clearest vision with the highest levels of safety and comfort. His practice offers a wide range of services, from annual eye exams and prescription fittings to cataract surgery and treatment for conditions like glaucoma, macular degeneration, and uveitis. He handles both routine care and emergency eye situations, always prioritizing patient well-being.
Outside of his practice, Dr. Chong enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters. He is fluent in English, Mandarin Chinese, and Spanish, allowing him to communicate effectively with a diverse patient population.
