About Me
Dr. James Mattax specializes in cataract and lens replacement surgery, LASIK and advanced surface ablation laser vision correction, and the treatment of cornea and external diseases. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
Dr. Mattax completed his undergraduate studies at Oklahoma State University, where he graduated with honors. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He then completed an internship and residency in ophthalmic surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery.
