About Me
Dr. James A. Goodson is a comprehensive ophthalmologist serving patients in Sumter, South Carolina. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and sees adults and patients aged 65 and older. Dr. Goodson provides care for a range of eye conditions, including cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, and dry eye.
Dr. Goodson graduated cum laude from Wofford College and earned his medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. He completed his internship at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center and his ophthalmology residency at the Medical College of Virginia, where he served as chief resident.
He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the South Carolina Medical Association, and the South Carolina Society of Ophthalmology.
