Meet Dr. Jack Cohen
About Me
Dr. Jack Cohen is a nationally recognized expert in the medical and surgical treatment of the retina, macula, and vitreous. He treats conditions such as macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachments, retinopathy of prematurity, and ocular cancers. He is one of a select group of specialists with expertise in both vitreoretinal diseases and ocular oncology.
Dr. Cohen completed his ophthalmology residency at Rush University Medical Center, followed by fellowships in ocular oncology at the University of California, San Francisco, and vitreoretinal surgery at Rush University Medical Center. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
In addition to his clinical practice at Illinois Retina Associates, Dr. Cohen serves as Director of Ocular Oncology and Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Rush University Medical Center. He was the Residency Program Director for the Department of Ophthalmology at Rush University for over 23 years. He has been an investigator in major clinical trials related to age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinopathy of prematurity. Dr. Cohen also serves as Head Ophthalmologist for the Chicago Bulls, Chicago White Sox, and Chicago Fire.
