Dr. Ia Ong Vang

Dr. Ia Ong Vang is an ophthalmology resident at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. She is currently training in the comprehensive Ophthalmology Residency program, where she is developing her skills in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of eye conditions. Dr. Vang is committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care and is dedicated to becoming the best ophthalmologist she can be through the strong clinical and surgical training offered at Mayo Clinic.

Dr. Vang earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin. She chose Mayo Clinic for her residency because of the variety of opportunities that suit her diverse interests and the supportive environment that encourages trainees to explore and expand their specific passions. She appreciates the program's emphasis on mentorship, innovation, and putting the needs of patients first.

Originally from Missoula, Montana, Dr. Vang enjoys exploring national parks, hiking alpine lake trails, and visiting local craft and farmers markets. She believes that a balanced life and personal interests contribute to her well-being and enhance her ability to connect with patients.
